To Ellen

This blog is made to the honor of my grandmother Ellen Elisabeth Thomsen who was a modern woman .
She was born in Randers in Denmark 1895 and died in Copenhagen 1976.
She had long salmon red hair down to her hips. It was braided and put up with lots of hairpins to make it look short.

Red haired women in pink

Christian Schad
Her hair is not red but reddish blond so I allow her into the Redhairinpaintings.blog
Because she is so nice and a bit lost  in her evening dress
out in the desert with the South American orchid.

Tamara de Lempicka

Master of shape light and sensuality.

Caherine Abel

Hands we just hide, they are hard to paint!
Excellent painter but the admiration she has for  Lempicka  is perhaps
not to her own advantage!

Fernando Botero

Here is an artist who never stole any style from anyone.
Even if the innocense that he paints gives reminders to Henri Rousseau,
it is still all his own inventions.
As Sandy Denny sings I'd settle any day for a fine view .
